Molly - Ambassador And Friend To My Beloved Zoey
by
Marcie Tepper
Molly is 1 of 3 Newfs rescued from Muskegon,
Michigan. Animal Control. She will be taking over
Zoey's role as ambassador when I go to nursing
homes, schools, the local ice cream parlor, etc.
Every time I look at her I see Zoey and her trust of
her. I'm sure many of you will meet her!
Editor: Zoey was Marcie's Great
Pyrenees who recently passed over the bridge. She is greatly missed
and forever in her heart. |

Molly, are you guided
By my Zoey up above
When I look into your face
I feel her never ending love
She was getting frail and weak
At the time you came to me
Zoey took an instant liking
It was something meant to be
You never left her side those days
She'd lay her head upon your back
Yet she didn't want to be
With any others in her pack
I see so much of her in you
The way you never leave my side
Without you here to care for me
I don't think Zoey would have died
I think she finally could let go
To lay to rest her aching bones
Because she knew you'd care for me
And protect me from unknowns
The way you lay your head
Upon my pillow as she did
The others sneaking up on us
You surely do forbid
All it takes is saying
"Molly, let them lay with us"
You roll your eyes lay back down
It isn't worth the fuss
You run outside to pee
Then quickly scurry back inside
You have to give me kisses
With that big mouth open wide
You are going to need some work
You take protecting as your right
But a growling, snarling Newfie
Is a most unwelcome sight
I think that as you settle,
As you learn your routine here
You will come to love the others
Protecting all and holding dear
I know that people will be shocked
To see you by my side
I've always had a huge white dog
Who was most dignified
So get used to the questions
Do the Pyrs now come in brown?
I'm sure to hear it often
As we traipse around the town
You will learn to eat ice cream cones
With the children, oh, so cold
And visit at the nursing homes
To comfort those who're old
You'll go and visit schools
To teach the young to care for pets
I'm confident you'll love it
And there will no sad regrets
So, welcome to the family
You have a very special place
And when I close my eyes
I see your sweet and gentle face
