Look at your child and see
the love there
It’s obvious just how much you must care
You gave birth, you fed her and held in your arms
You smile at each of her sweet little charms
You can’t imagine life without her there by your side
Imagine how you’d feel if she just up and died
The pain would be more than you think you could bear
You never realized just how much you could care
The grief would be endless, you would not want to eat
Your body so heavy you can’t get up on your feet
You’d probably wish that you could give up and die
You just close your eyes and you hear that sweet cry
What makes you think you’re the only one who feels
That for your offspring you fall head over heels
Can you even imagine what any mother’s thought
To realize for eating their child has been bought
Humans are not the only ones to love of their young
Yet they are the ones with their almighty tongue
They assume that as animals they aren’t capable of love
Don’t they realize they too were sent from God up above?
I just can’t imagine what goes through a mother’s mind
When her child’s torn away to be eaten by mankind
Please think about what you put into your food
Don’t just allow yourself to be misconstrued
When you eat of an animal it is a life that you take
Think how you’d feel if your child was that steak
The thought is too painful for most people to bear
The eating of flesh in any form is unfair.
