Szormok is the
name you had
With champion mom
and champion dad
You came from
Hungary, European you are
It’s hard to
image you came from so far
After only eight
weeks from your birth
You flew half way
around the earth
And then I got a
call one day
With me you
wanted to come and stay
On a plane once
again you would board
Please keep him
safe, I prayed the Lord
A week in New
York, the City of Lights
You were much too
young to enjoy the sights
Then on to San
Francisco you went
After only a week
there to me you’d be sent
Eleven weeks old
and you’d traveled the world
When in a lap you
should have been curled
Your ticket cost
more than any I’d ever bought
But I’d do it
again without any thought
Your devotion to
me is unparalleled
You still crawl
on my lap though too big to be held
Never do you let
me out of your sight
And if anyone
threatened they’d get a dog bite
A Komondor guards
their loved ones you see
And we work to
keep it to a tolerable degree
When out in
public you are friendly to all
But in your own
home there’s been a close call
When men make Mom
nervous you step up to the plate
She might as well
give up her idea of a date
I know you feel
things that I don’t realize
It’s felt in your
heart, not seen with your eyes
A quick judge of
character you don’t give them a break
You tell if
they’re honest, hiding feelings, or fake
You won’t let
them touch you, you bark in their face
And I know you
would bite if they got in your space
If they are
stupid enough to try to get close to Mom
As you fly
through the air, they’ll be hit like bomb
You love me with
all of your heart and your soul
And as long as
I’m safe you stay under control
If someone gets
bit they should not have been near
It’s not my big
guns, it is you they should fear
So I’ll try to
protect you from having to bite
I won’t let them
approach unless you invite
Then if you
invite them into your close pack
They just might
get a second chance to come back
