Jay Jay is a white fuzz ball
But he is not a Pyr at all
I know not much of border collies
All their tricks and games and follies
My house is full of Great Pyrenees
Who aren’t used to the way that you tease
They nail you, pin you to the ground
But you just get up for another round
You are so smart and you catch on quick
But I’m not used to dogs who like to lick
A Pyrenees may give air kisses
But a tongue on your cheek, it always misses
A Pyrenees won’t jump and bark
The minute I put my car in park
They stand, they wag their tail and smile
They’ve heard my car the last half mile
Leave my Komondor’s cords alone
Don’t chew them as if they were a bone
And when he lays upon the floor
Your bed is not what they’re made for
My cat lives here, please do not chase
He does not like you in his face
He lived here long before you came
And does not appreciate your game
I know that you were meant to herd
But when you do, you look absurd
My goats are old, leave them alone
Go chase a ball or dig a bone
You try to hard, so eager to please
Wait a minute, stop, drop and freeze
You do not take my underwear
Then sit under my kitchen chair
You prance around with your great prize
As I stand there and roll my eyes
Pyrenees don’t chew or steal my stuff
They’re sweet and gentle, not near so rough
Agility is what you need
We need to try it, yes indeed
However I’m just way too old
To ever keep up with you I’m told
In a young family is where you belong
Keeping you here just feels so wrong
You need to run ‘til you’re tired out
To have lots of toys that you carry about
When I get ready to go to bed
Upon my pillow you’ve laid your head
It’s hard to scold and send away
When you’ve had such a long hard day
That dreaded day is finally here
As I just stand here with tear after tear
A family has finally chosen you
In spite of the silly things you do
I beg of her, please love you so
As I turn and slowly go
I won’t forget, wouldn’t know how to start
You’ll always have a special place in my
heart
