How
can I do rescue with a babe in the house?
It’s
just me and the dogs here, I don’t have a spouse
I
promise to keep you out of harm’s way
I
must find the courage, I’ll just have to pray
A
sweet little babe, never asking to be born
Then
out of your own mother’s arms you were torn
Spending time with many people, all strangers to
you
Not
knowing each day where you’ll be or with who
So
this I promise you my sweet little girl
I’ll
hold you and love you no matter what life may
hurl
We’ll
figure a way to make it through each new day
Even
at my age, I’m sure I can learn how to play
My
dogs will help keep you safe from all harm
No
strangers will ever step foot on our farm
When
here you will feel nothing but love
We’ll
have lots of guidance from God up above
The
dogs take turns guarding your crib
When
they aren’t distracted by chewing your bib
Your
dropping of toys out your bed must stop
I’m
constantly running around with the mop
The
sharing of food is not a good choice
Or
you will hear Grandma’s scolding voice
They
must learn to wait and just sit by your side
Not
wait for your droppings in mouths open wide
The
pulling of lips and ears is such fun
Apparently they love it or they’d get up and run
But
no, they keep sticking their face back for more
The
sound of your laughter sounds out like a roar
But
with strange new dogs I’ll need extra care
Of
potential dangers I am very aware
I
need to learn what they would do
If
they were left alone with you
So I
will never take that chance
Even
if they seem safe at first glance
The
weather’s nice, they can play outside
While
we alone our time abide
They
can come in when you’re asleep
Safe
from each other I must keep
You
from them and them from you
This
is surely what I’ll need to do
