Why do you put that chain around my fragile neck?

I don’t know what you ask of me, I am a nervous wreck

You yank, you pull, you jerk and choke, I do not understand

Why can’t you show me what you want with soft and gentle hand?

To make me sit all you must do is touch upon my rump

Not yank my head up in the air and whack me with a thump

How do I connect sitting when you’re choking all my air

You seem to be so angry and you act like you don’t care

 If you want me close to you it shouldn’t be with pain

A gentle voice, a loving touch and then my trust you’ll gain

There’s nothing more I’d like to do than make you proud of me
