I rescue dogs, I don’t do cats

But they don’t seem to know

They just show up and then they stay

They’ve no place else to go

 

Now one’s come, she’s full of babes

But I can’t get her near

I’ve set a trap, tried oh, so hard

But she’s too full of fear

 

I worry as I go to bed

Where she may go give birth

Another batch of kittens

With no homes upon his Earth

 

I don’t do cats, I tell myself

But now I’m up to six

I managed to catch five so far

Then they go and get “the fix”

 

I’ve begged the rescues “take them”

But they always tell me “no”

So unless it’s to a shelter

They have no place else to go

 

My guess is that she’ll have them

In my garage while I’m asleep

For several week’s she’ll hide

From all harm she’ll try to keep

 

So once again I’m begging

That someone else will help this time

If I can find her kittens

And go grab them in their prime
