Al-Van Pyrs

by Marcie Tepper

Tia and Taz, what a shame of your fate

You must make the trip up above, Heaven’s Gate

The disease that you have causes oh, so much pain

Attempts to cure it have just been made in vain

I’m so sorry to do this, but your pain is too great

If we’d only had you sooner, but now it’s too late

The disease makes you sick, and your body can’t fight

It’s advanced for so long that we can’t make it right

But at peace you will be, you will never hurt again

You will not have to live in some filthy small pen

You will frolic and play upon clouds soft and white

And on a soft cuddly bed you will sleep every night

This is the kindest way out that offer to you

Tho’ it breaks of my heart, it is what I must do

I pray as you leave for your new home above

You will now get to experience both kindness and love
